Disclosure about us and the service we offer you.
 

Given the various types of policy we offer we do not publish on our website a combined document outlining all of the products and services we offer.

We do this so as not to confuse our customers who, when reading a generic document, may think they are getting one level of service rather than the service level the company thinks they are receiving.

However ALL customers will receive an initial disclosure document that is relevant to the product or business they select before any policy or product is sold to them.

 
To give you an indication of our approach to conducting business, the statements below represent the approach taken with the majority of customers.
Basis of Service

We assume that the customer has conducted their own initial research and feel that the policies offered by our website meet their needs.

The customer being already aware of the cover they want, we do not advise clients on the type of cover they should have, the amount of cover, the term of the cover or any associated features contained with the cover.

With very few exceptions, we do not make a personal recommendation and all polices are sold on a non-advised basis. The customer will decide if the policy is appropriate to their needs.

We offer policies from the whole of the UK market for insurance policies that have a term of more than one year, except where the cover is of a specialist nature and a restricted panel of insurers are the only ones offering cover. For polices via Lloyds of London, we will typically only quote from one syndicate.

How We Get Paid

We do not charge a fee for Term Assurance, Income Protection Insurance and Critical Illness Insurance, Private Medical Insurance, Accident Sickness & Unemployment (ASU), Insurance and Buildings and Contents Insurance.

We will receive commission from the provider

You will receive a quotation before the sale which will tell you about any other fees relating to any particular insurance policy.

Who Regulates Us
Declined Life Insurance is a trading name of Platinum Financial Consulting which is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Our FSA Register Number is 227014.


Platinum Financial Consulting is permitted to advise on and arrange investments , mortgages and insurance products.

If you cannot settle your complaint with us, you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

We are covered by the FSCS. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.

Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 90% of the claim, without any upper limit.
